Kill Bill directed by Quentin Tarantino has many different genres incorporated into the film. The genre of the film sets the tone and the experience that the viewers will have while watching the film however Quentin Tarantino took a different approach to this. By using different genres instead of one distinct genre the film is given a unique and excellent tone and provides a brand new experience for the viewers of the film.

One genre this film can be classified as is a thriller. The mystery and plot keeps the viewers at the edge of their seat through every unexpected turn the film takes. This mystery keeps the viewer guessing and engaged on a personal level with the characters in the film. The thriller aspect of the film also provided a comedic outlook for the viewers as well which provided a great deal of entertainment. Some of the comedic aspects could be seen through out the outrages fight scenes and dramatic gore. These aspects help to invite the viewers into the revenge seeking leading female warrior’s world. The scene shown above is one excellent example of the thriller aspect of this film. Black Mamba enters into her enemies home quite subtly and ends with a fight to the death. This scene leaves viewers on their seat as the question of whether or not Black Mamba has it in her to kill her enemy in front of her daughter or not.

Another genre found in this excellent film is action. The incorporation of action inside of any film is highly important to set the stage of the tone and audience involvement of the film. This film uses a great example of this by opening the film with a fight scene. By doing this the audience becomes aware that this film will be fast paced and action packed leaving the viewer wanting more. The use of the samurai fight scenes in Japan and the hospital room scene are both prime examples of this the action packed film. Many of these fight scenes were very long and gruesome. These extended fight scenes were intended to captivate the audience and make them feel as though they were at the event themselves. The usage of many different genres helps to make this film extremely unique and extremely captivating to watch.
